Yesterday we announced that Stuart McClure, founder and CEO of Cylance, Inc, is joining our Board of Directors. The entire company is excited about his joining us, and James Chappell and I are especially looking forward to working with him as we further grow the company.

While we are excited, Stuart’s joining our board is not the only great team news we have at Digital Shadows (now ReliaQuest). Over the last few months we’ve grown our executive leadership team to map to our business goals, and I want to introduce them. Some of these folks might be familiar faces, and others are faces that you’ll want to get to know if you haven’t. But all of them are wonderfully talented, dedicated, and together we’ve already accomplished some amazing wins together.

First, we’ve promoted our first employee in 2012, Emily Biggs, to Vice President of Product. Emily joined us from BAE Systems Detica as Chief Engineer and Lead Developer, and helped to build our development team. As Vice President of Product, Emily now oversees all product strategy for the company, from roadmap development to go-to-market.

Another early employee, James Merrick, who joined us in 2013 also from BAE Systems Detica as Operations Manager, is now Vice President of Operations. He brought with him great experience across both commercial and public sectors, working on a number of large scale IT projects, and has significantly contributed to growing our client-facing operations activities and team here at Digital Shadows (now ReliaQuest).

Will Gragido joined us at the end of May this year as Head of Threat Intelligence Research for the U.S. Will is quite visible in the security industry, and has already added tremendous value when speaking with our clients, or speaking on behalf of us with media or industry analysts. He’s worked with such well-known companies as ISS (IBM), Damballa, and RSA Netwitness, and is the author of “Blackhatonomics: An Inside Look at the Economics of Cybercrime.”

Since opening our San Francisco office, extending our U.S. presence has been a top priority. In doing this, we needed a top-notch Head of Sales with deep experience driving global sales success. It’s because of this that we are thrilled that Jeff True is now our Vice President of Worldwide Sales. He is best revered for his role at Websense, now part of Raytheon, where he successfully led a near 100-person sales team and was responsible for growing the company’s revenues from zero to more than $385 million, and served on the executive team through two acquisitions and the company’s IPO.

Finally, we’re welcoming Jennifer Leggio to our team as Senior Vice President of Marketing, starting September 1. Jennifer has been acting as our part-time acting VP of marketing through her consulting business, and we’re pleased that she has chosen to join us full-time to further build our marketing strategy and team. Jennifer was the Senior Director of Security Market Strategy and marketing for Cisco — a role she assumed after the $2.7 billion acquisition of Sourcefire, where she was Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications. Clearly a fan of growing companies, she was previously the Director of Corporate Communications at Fortinet, which she joined in 2006 and helped drive corporate communications through the company’s extremely successful IPO, and beyond.

One of the best lessons I have ever learned is that to be successful you need a great team that you trust, believe in and celebrate our wins together. Culture is so important in this company and we prize it very dearly, doing our best to keep Digital Shadows (now ReliaQuest) a great place to work.

I firmly believe that James and I have now assembled a world-class team at Digital Shadows (now ReliaQuest) and we’re excited to see what the future brings for all of us. We continue to grow rapidly, and have a number of opportunities available for exceptional people to join the team.

Many of these team members will be at Black Hat USA next week, so please be sure to stop by to see us in International Pavilion #25 or join us at our VIP Happy Hour at the Mandalay Bay on Tuesday early evening. Please register and join us for some drinks and light snacks. The team looks forward to meeting you.
