Enables security teams to protect their organization from digital risks by leveraging the power and capabilities of Splunk
San Francisco and London, December 11, 2018: Digital Shadows, the leader in Digital Risk Protection, has today announced the release of an updated version of its Splunk App, which is now certified for both Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud. Used by 89 out of the Fortune 100 companies, Splunk is designed to provide insights from data so IT professionals can sift through ‘noise’ and focus on what’s most important.
Digital Shadows customers will now be able to use their existing Splunk services alongside Digital Shadows SearchLight™ within the same platform, for no extra cost. This will dramatically streamline incident processing as security professionals can now correlate alerts, ingest the latest threat intelligence, and gain real-time context from the open, deep, and dark web.
“The ability to pull Digital Shadows data into Splunk allows the Security Operations Centre to monitor, alert and correlate SearchLight incidents and intelligence against our other infrastructure and applications. This has reduced the time it takes to respond to a number of alerts. Additionally, the built-in visualization enables us to monitor the risk of external cyber threats and present at a high level to senior stakeholders”, said a large UK retailer.
The development by Digital Shadows also means that information on the latest threat actors, campaigns, and malware is ingested into the Splunk platform, providing customers with associated Indicators of Compromise (IOC) and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to help organizations align their defenses. When combined with Splunk Enterprise, it means firms can combine this insight with other sources of detection and intelligence in order to identify the severity and urgency of an event. Furthermore, Splunk users are now able to pivot off attributes into Shadow Search, a feature of Digital Shadows SearchLight, providing immediate context from the open, deep, and dark web.
Alastair Paterson, CEO and Co-Founder of Digital Shadows adds: “This move will offer greater value for Digital Shadows customers since many of them are also Splunk users. It means they only need to go to one place for all the critical real-time information they need. Furthermore, it will help Digital Shadows to scale and make it easier for Splunk’s customers to receive alerts from our SearchLight service.”
