Alastair Paterson min

Alastair Paterson, CEO and Co-Founder

Alastair has worked for over a decade advising secure government and FTSE 100 clients on large-scale data analytics for risk and intelligence. Before founding Digital Shadows in 2011, Alastair was International Propositions Manager at BAE Systems Detica working with clients in the Gulf, Europe and Australasia. He holds a first class MEng in Computer Science from the University of Bristol.

James Chappell min

James Chappell, CTO and Co-Founder

James has over sixteen years experience of technical information security acting as an advisor to large private sector and government organizations. Much of his work has involved counteracting the growth of crime and fraud in computer networks and developing effective ways of measuring and managing the information security big picture.

Daniel Mosk min

Daniel Moskowitz, CFO

Daniel leads the company’s Finance, Human Resources and Legal functions. He brings a wealth of experience from public companies including Intel, BMC Software and Intuit and several private, VC-backed companies, in both domestic and global settings. He has been successful at strengthening and scaling up companies in high growth environments.  Most recently, as VP Finance and Administration at AtHoc, he managed recurring revenue growth over 200% and was then a driving force in its successful acquisition by Blackberry.  Daniel holds an MBA from USC and a BA from Tel-Aviv University.

Daniel Lowden min

Daniel Lowden, CMO

Dan has more than 20 years of executive-level experience in technology marketing. He has driven brand leadership and execution for large enterprises and startups in security, mobile computing, wireless services, enterprise software and cloud. Previously Dan was Chief Marketing Officer at Invincea, a machine learning next-gen antivirus  company that was recently acquired by Sophos. Prior to that, he was VP of Marketing at vArmour, a leading data center and cloud security company. Previous roles also include VP of Marketing at Digby (acquired by Phunware), and VP of Marketing and Business Development at Wayport (acquired by AT&T). In addition, he has held marketing leadership positions at IBM, NEC, and Sharp Electronics. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Rider University and an MBA in International Business from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.

Rick Holland min

Rick Holland, Vice President, Strategy

Rick Holland has more than 14 years experience working in information security. Prior to joining Digital Shadows he was a vice president and principal analyst at Forrester Research, providing strategic guidance on security architecture, operations, and data privacy. Rick also served as an intelligence analyst in the U.S. Army. He is currently the co-chair of the SANS Cyber Threat Intelligence Summit, and holds a B.S. in business administration with an MIS concentration from the University of Texas at Dallas. 

Emily Biggs min

Emily Biggs, Vice President, Product

Emily joined Digital Shadows at its inception and developed its initial offering, growing the company’s development team. She now oversees all product strategy for the company. Emily specializes in architecting enterprise-level critical systems, particularly in the big data risk intelligence domain. She previously worked at BAE Systems Detica as lead developer, technical project manager, and technical architect. She holds a degree in computer science from Oxford University.

James Merrick min

James Merrick, Vice President, Operations

James Merrick runs Digital Shadows’ client-facing operations, which he has been developing since he joined the company in 2013. He joined from BAE Systems Detica, where he worked with clients such as BT, Vodafone and Home Office. He also has a strong background as a function analyst and business analyst, covering requirements capture and management, process mapping and engineering, and system design. He has a 1st class BSc degree in physics from University of Bath, from where he graduated with honors.

Alex Seton min

Alex Seton, Vice President, Business & Corporate Development

With over 24 years of experience, Alex is well known in the cyber security industry for identifying and delivering compelling product solutions and strategic partnerships resulting in increased customer value and company acceleration. As founding VP of Business Development, Channels, and Strategic Alliances at network security analytics pioneer Solera Networks, Alex developed the industry’s first Advanced Threat Protection eco-system with a highly successful partnering approach evidenced by success for customers, strategic partners and investors alike. Alex also served as VP Corporate Development at Blue Coat Systems and held executive roles at Cisco, LANDesk and Novell.

Bryan ONeil min

Bryan O'Neil, Vice President, Engineering

Bryan O’Neil has worked with Digital Shadows since the beginning of the company, developing SearchLight's technical architecture. Bryan has 15 years of experience in development and architecture of mission critical systems, primarily focused on high-throughput data processing. He previously worked with BAE Systems Detica, supporting for customers from several UK government departments, as well as AA, Three, Sainsburys and Vodafone.

Becky Pinkard min

Becky Pinkard, Vice President, Service Delivery and Intelligence Operations

Becky Pinkard is a renowned practitioner and commentator on the infosec sector, who has been working in information technology since 1996. A security transformation expert, Becky has built and managed global security teams, designed risk and compliance strategies, led security audits and assessments, and developed security awareness training in small and large environments. She was a SANS Certified Instructor for 15 years and has served as a GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst advisory board member and on the Strategic Advisory Council for the Center for Internet Security. Becky is also a co-author of the Syngress books "Nmap in the Enterprise" and "Intrusion Prevention and Active Response, Deploying Network and Host IPS”.

Jeff True min

Jeff True, Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Jeff has a proven pedigree of more than 20 years of enterprise technology sales leadership, much of this rooted in the security industry. He oversaw the global mid-enterprise business at Websense, now part of Raytheon, where he successfully led a near 100-person sales team and grew the company’s revenue to more than $385 million; he also served on the executive team through two acquisitions and the company’s IPO. Jeff has also led enterprises sales organizations in the big data and financial technology sectors.

Chris Brown min

Chris Brown, Vice President, EMEA and APAC Sales

Chris has over 20 years of experience working across a broad range of security roles after originally serving in the Royal Air Force. Before joining Digital Shadows Chris was previously Regional Sales Director for both NetWitness and Solera Networks as well as head of GRC at Symantec.

Paul Kenealy, Director of Intelligence

Paul has a 15 year career in Information Security, seeing him work across Government, Finance and Professional Services in Threat Intelligence strategy and transformation roles. Paul worked in cyber threat analysis at the Ministry of Defence, before becoming the UK lead for Cyber Threat Intelligence Service development whilst at KPMG. Paul also speaks Russian, having completed a BA(Hons) in Russian and Soviet Studies. Subsequently, Paul received his MSc in Information Security from Royal Holloway University.

Ben Walton, Threat Intelligence Manager, UK

Ben Walton joined Digital Shadows in 2015 and oversees daily operations for the UK intelligence operations team. He has a 1st class BSc in Intelligence and Security, and previously worked for Telefónica’s Global Cyber Security team. A former Royal Marines Commando, he served for eight years specializing in intelligence and counter-terrorism.

Ashley Tanner, Threat Intelligence Manager, US

Ashley Tanner has nine years of experience across government and private sector as an intelligence analyst. Prior to joining Digital Shadows Ashley served in the U.S. Navy for five years and worked as a U.S. Army civilian teaching an intelligence course. She holds a Masters in Intelligence, Security Studies and Analysis. She is also Adjunct faculty for an undergraduate intelligence program.

Mark Tibbs, Intelligence Development Manager

Mark Tibbs worked in intelligence in UK national law enforcement for eight years before joining Digital Shadows. He has experience leading and coordinating teams and operations against international organized criminal groups, and worked extensively with international government, law enforcement and private sector partners. Mark has a passionate interest in the cybercrime threat landscape, and holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime investigation from University College Dublin.

Matt Welch, Collections Manager

Matt Welch is a security and intelligence professional with over 15 years’ experience in both public and private sectors across North America, Europe and the Middle East. Matt’s previous responsibilities included mitigating the impact of complex technical threats, and implementing effective preventative solutions. Matt attended the Canadian Police College of Canada for studies in Intelligence, as well as the Royal Military College of Canada, in the Bachelor of Military Arts and Science (BMASc) programme.

Eileen Burbidge

Eileen Burbidge is a partner at Passion Capital, the leading early stage venture capital fund in London. She has previously held product leadership roles at Yahoo!, Skype, Openwave, Sun and Apple. Eileen is also an occasional angel investor in US-based companies including Mattermark and Wickr. Outside of Passion, Eileen also serves on the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group, HM Treasury Special Envoy for Fintech as appointed by the Chancellor, Tech Ambassador for the Mayor of London and Chair of Tech City UK.

Ryan Floyd

Ryan is a founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures. At Storm Ventures, Ryan focuses on enterprise IT and has primarily invested in SaaS (Crowd Factory / Acquired by Marketo, BlackStratus), mobile (Appcelerator) and cloud/infrastructure related companies (Hubpages, Kidaro/Acquired by Microsoft, MetaCloud, Splashtop and Swiftstack). He has also invested in semiconductors/components as well (SandForce /Acquired by LSI and Ignis Optics /Acquired by Bookham). Prior to Storm Ventures, Ryan held leadership positions at E-TEK Dynamics and Summit Partners.

Stuart McClure

Stuart leads Cylance as its CEO and visionary for the first math based approach to threat detection, protection and response. Prior to Cylance, Stuart was EVP, Global CTO and General Manager at McAfee/Intel. Stuart is the creator and lead-author of the most successful security book of all time, Hacking Exposed. He is widely recognized for his extensive and in-depth knowledge of security, and is one of the industry's leading authorities in information security today.

Schwark Satyavolu

Schwark is a General Partner at Trinity Ventures focusing on Fintech, Security and Artificial Intelligence investments. For almost 20 years, he has built and complied with security standards for some of the largest financial institutions in the country. Schwark co-founded two Fintech companies – Yodlee (YDLE, acquired by Envestnet in 2015) and Truaxis (a Trinity portfolio company acquired by MasterCard in 2012). Before joining Trinity, Schwark served as EVP at LifeLock and head of Mastercard’s global rewards and offers initiatives. An engineer by background, he has also worked for Microsoft and is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as an inventor on 15 US patents.

Martin Brown

Martin has extensive experience in the successful transformation and growth of businesses in software and IT infrastructure ranging from $5m to $250m in turnover. Martin has held senior leadership positions at ChangeBase, Symantec and Sun Microsystems and has experience as a chairman and non-executive in the early stage software arena.

Andy Dancer

Andy Dancer is a serial start-up entrepreneur well-versed in managing exit strategies, his most recent venture being email encryption company Identum which was sold to Trend Micro. Andy served as EMEA CTO for Trend Micro and was instrumental in the concept, development and launch of their award-winning cloud security product SecureCloud. Andy now advises a portfolio of exciting, high growth, technology companies.

Art Coviello

Art Coviello was former Executive Chairman of RSA, The Security Division of EMC.  During Mr. Coviello’s two-decade career at RSA, the company evolved to become a leader in information security, including security analytics, identity, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).  Mr. Coviello was a driving force in RSA’s rapid growth during his tenure, increasing revenue from $25 million in 1995 to revenues of more than $1 billion in 2014.

Since retiring from RSA, Mr. Coviello works with companies, industries, and governments to continue informing and shaping the evolution of security strategy to meet the challenges facing organizations today and tomorrow.  Mr. Coviello’s decades of expertise and influence have made him a recognized leader in the industry and he plays key roles in national and international cyber-security initiatives and is a regular speaker at conferences and forums around the world.

Jim Bandanza

Jim Bandanza brings over 20 years of enterprise security and software experience to the Digital Shadows Advisory Board as CRO/Chief Operating Officer at CounterTack. 

Tim Belcher

Tim Belcher was Chief Technology Officer at RSA and has been a Director of White Ops, Inc. since January 2015. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Invincea, Inc. Mr Belcher was founder and Chief Technology Officer of NetWitness Corp. and CTO of Riptech.

Ian Cook

Ian Cook joins Digital Shadows in an advisory role helping the business focus its efforts better towards incident responders and analysts. Mr Cook is CEO and Founder of Corbels Security Services and has 35 years of experience in advising businesses in their strategic decisions including Saudi American Bank, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Team Cymru, and numerous technology start-ups.

He is also mentor at Cyber London (CyLon): Europe's first cyber security accelerator; and at HutZero: the UK's first cybersecurity bootcamp.

Srinivas Mantripragada

Srinivas Mantripragada is the Vice President of Engineering at AnalyticsMD and a venture advisor to several VC firms in Silicon Valley. Prior to that, he was Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Foundation Capital, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm sitting in Advisory boards of several companies. Prior, Mr Mantripragada was VP, Technology at Infoblox (NASDAQ: BLOX) leading their security initiatives and taking the company public. He was also the Director of Advanced technology at Determina, an innovative cybersecurity firm which was acquired by VMWare and Chief Architect at Barracuda networks (NASDAQ: CUDA), a worldwide leader in Web Application Security. Mr Mantripragada was also a founding member, CTO and VP of Products at RedShift networks, a leading provider of secure communications for VOIP/LTE networks. Srinivas co-Authored more than 60+ technical/product/research peer reviewed publications, journals, 6 patents with 2 standards defined. He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from University of California, Irvine.
