The company grows its market leadership position based on the accelerated adoption of digital risk protection by organizations across the globe
San Francisco and London, February 6, 2019: Digital Shadows, the leader in Digital Risk Protection, has today announced it has significantly expanded its overall sales and marketing operation to cover new regions as organizations across the globe quickly adopt digital risk protection as a ‘must have’ to protect against data loss, online brand exposure, and attack surface reduction. Following a year that has seen the company substantially grow its customer base and workforce, this expansion sets the company up to service both demand from existing and new customers within all regions across the globe.
Maria Mastakas has joined Digital Shadows as VP of Sales for the Americas where she reports to Felix Knoll, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Mastakas joins from Datashield, an existing Digital Shadows partner. Prior to this she took over Integrated Business Solutions, a value-added reseller founded in 1994, as an owner and President. She restructured the company and built a security division, increasing the revenues from $3M to $14M, which led to its acquisition by Datashield in 2015. At Datashield, she built the direct sales team, increased customer retention significantly, and grew revenues to help position the company for acquisition. She was part of the team that led the sale of Datashield to ADT in October 2017.
The overall sales team is supported by a strong marketing operation that has enabled Digital Shadows to be named the market leader in Digital Risk Protection in the 2018 Forrester New Wave Report. To support the group’s growth, Anna Jensen has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing from her previous role of Director of Marketing where she reports to Dan Lowden, CMO. Anna was previously global programs manager, security marketing at Cisco.
Additional Digital Shadows hires see Scott Anderson become Regional Sales Manager for Australia. Based in Melbourne, Scott will oversee sales in both Australia and in New Zealand. He will report to Lawrence Loh, newly appointed Regional Sales Director for APAC, based in the Digital Shadows Singapore office. A new Regional Sales Manager for Japan will shortly be appointed and will report to Loh.
Channel expansion is increasingly important to Digital Shadows on a global scale. Over the last year the company has developed partnerships with channel organizations across the globe in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, North America and Latin America. To drive this forward, Tim Goodwin has been promoted to Channel Director EMEA and APAC, having joined Digital Shadows in March 2017. He will be supported by a new member of the channel team, Maria Lanzallotti, Channel Manager for Southern Europe, who will look after Portugal, Italy, Spain and Greece. Recently, James Barry was named Director of Worldwide Channel Marketing Programs to support the channel sales team as the company accelerates its reach through partners.
Alastair Paterson, CEO of Digital Shadows comments: “The new hires and promotions gear Digital Shadows up for an exciting 2019, which will propel the company to become truly global. The US and UK remain strong growth markets, and we have seen the growth in APAC in particular, really accelerate over the last year, hence our increased investment in that region. The digital risk protection market overall is growing rapidly, and we’re pleased that our clients realize the benefits of how we can protect them against digital risks from across the open, deep, and dark web.”
